veneered wood, ceramics | 82 x 390 x 126 cm | 2010

In 2010 Joost designed the collection 'Poor Man's Gold' for the Zuiderzee Museum. This collection exists of four monumental cabinets filled with pottery which refer to the maritime history the Netherlands.
A huge mortar and pepper mill made of pottery refer to the profitable yield of herbs and spices. Joost also pays attention to  the fraught history of slavery, by scratching the Delfts blue glazing.
